As you can see in our powerpoint we have used the knowledge we gained after studying theorists such ad Richard Dyer and Andrew Goodwin and integrated throughout or work. For instance we have clearly conformed to the conventions of the genre, something we felt we needed to do in order to create a successful boy band video, as pushing the boundaries in such a main stream form of music was too much of a risk. In addition i feel we re-enforce social myths as the clothes we wear throughout the production connote friendship, however enable each character to create their own original personality within the group.
Our detailed research at the beginning of or production allowed us to gain a comprehensive understanding of how a boy band would connote and market themselves with looking into up to date mainstream boy bands such as JLS and One Direction. Through this research of other boy bands we identified our target audience as young teens predominantly females, which influenced our production as it needed to fit their wants in a music video such as ours, which we could portray throughout such as mise-en-scene and our narrative. An important aspect we wanted to incorporate with was the 'star image' a boy band represents which we enforced through subtle connotations through our production for example the star we added into our logo and the iconic London scenery such as The Houses of Parliament.
